🌟 Spotlight: Lisa Starobin 🌟
As part of Classified Employee Appreciation Week, we’re thrilled to spotlight Lisa Starobin, whose incredible journey with the San Bruno Park School District spans nearly two decades of dedication, laughter, and heart.
Lisa began her SBPSD story in 2006 as a volunteer art teacher at El Crystal School, where her oldest child had just started kindergarten. For eight years, she inspired creativity and joy in students who eagerly looked forward to “art time.”
In 2011, Lisa took on a new challenge as a Substitute Office Manager, supporting offices across the district. She then became the Clerical Assistant at John Muir (2012–2015), and later served as the school’s Office Manager (2015–2024), becoming a beloved and essential part of the John Muir community.
This year, Lisa embraced a new chapter as the Educational Assessment and Data Technician at the District Office. Though she misses daily student interactions, she loves visiting school sites and seeing those familiar, smiling faces.
Lisa shares that she never set out to work in education—but one opportunity led to the next, and the more involved she became, the more invested she felt. She’s especially grateful for the mentors who believed in her, the students who made her laugh, and the colleagues she affectionately calls her “peeps.”
Thank you, Lisa, for growing with us, for sharing your joyful spirit, and for the heart you bring to SBPSD each and every day! 💙📚🎨
