• YMCA Case Management:
Food Assistance, Financial Assistance, Unhoused Shelter Resources & Clipper Cards. 50 San Bruno Park School families were served. These families were awarded 1st and last month’s rent and moving costs, along with a $200 clipper card. The total amount awarded: $25,000.00.
• YMCA Parent Wellness and Financial Support Group:
74 SBPSD families participated in workshops. These families participated in weekly workshops where education, resources, and strategies to enhance their well-being as parents were provided.
• Peninsula Food Distribution:
Twice weekly food distribution at Belle Air and Allen Elementary, over 1,174 San Bruno Park School Families were served.
• Second Harvest Food Distribution:
Over 3000 families were served this school year.
• Quarterly Legal Workshop:
40 families attended to receive support with their legal status. The primary purpose of the workshop is to educate and empower parents navigating the complexities of immigration laws and procedure. 4 San Bruno parents have retained Mr. Shamieh as their attorney.
• Community Center Visits:
579 San Bruno Park families visited the center to access resources, such as furniture, clothing, school supplies, diapers, strollers, high chairs, car seats, translation services for doctor appointments, CAL Fresh, CalWorks, Social Security Office, technical support, school registration support. This process/case management can take up 4 to 8 hours depending on the family’s needs.
• Faith in Action:
Secured Asylum applications for four San Bruno Park School families. These families will be provided support throughout the citizenship process.
• Secured employment for 5 SBPSD members through the District. This includes being part of the interview, providing transportation for the interviewer to Urgent Care for the TB test and Live Scan agency.
• StarVista:
The on site StarVista family partner and counselor helped over 300 families and students navigate life’s challenges.
• Home Visits:
Conducted over 30 home-visits. The purpose of these visits is to: assess needs and provide resources and direct support to the families.
• Wellness Checks:
Called 40 families to assess their overall well-being and identify any potential needs for assistance or intervention.
